Real Gold

Hello everyone ~ I hope the start of your week is wonderful.  I just had to share the real gold in my back yard ~ Nothing better than these beauties ~

I just LOVE these little gold finches.  They are so fun to watch

My garden is starting to look a little better ~

Saturdays make me smile ;-)

Happy Saturday ~ I am just gazing at the flowers that my daughter brought me.  They make me smile ;-)

Aren't these spider mums just wonderful?

The lilacs are blooming and they smell absolutely wonderful.  Mr. Vintage and I hit a yard sale down the street and I picked up a milk glass vase ..so I had to fill it!

It's too bad that lilacs don't last long.  I just love them ~ don't you?

Well I will share the other goodies that I picked up at the yard sale now ~

Jadite tea cups and saucers.  I LOVE jadite ~

Mr. Vintage spotted these two turquoise refrigerator drawers.  50 cents each ~!  I am going to store onions and potatoes in them

And an enamelware coffee pot and little pot ~ these are going in the camper ~

A Garden visit and a surprise ~

Hello ~ I hope everyone is well ~ Welcome to my garden.  The garden is a little late this year, but I am soooo welcoming the warm sunny weather.  Let's take a stroll ....

I love tulips, don't you?

My phlox have run wild. The wind keeps blowing leftover leaves in them ;-)

Every garden has to have a fairy or two ;-) although you can see she is blowing in the wind...is she shy?

Mr. Vintage built this little hillbilly shack, which is my potting shed.  I just LOVE it....

Dwarf iris ~ my other iris haven't bloomed yet,

Scooter LOVES to romp in the garden and she's very careful of my plants and flowers. 

now I MUST share with you the surprise that Mr. Vintage had waiting for me.  As you know, Mr. Vintage has been ill and he could not really give me anything for Mother's Day (I got flowers, but he said that wasn't enough)....He went on Kijiji and had the Vendor deliver this...(Can you hear me squealing with delight?)

Mr. Vintage, I couldn't ask for a better man, soul mate and life partner than you...

I am soooo excited.  Tell me, is there anything exciting happening to you?  Can't wait to hear ;-)

Hello my friends ~ I was wondering if any one could help me.  I went into my dashboard and my whole list of blogs that I follow has disappeared.  I have tried refreshing and nothing brings it back ~ I am so upset.  I don't have any of your updates.

Saturday thrifting fun~

I hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend.  We are finally having beautiful weather and I LOVE it.  I went out thrifting today and these are my little goodies ~

This little creamware milk pitcher caught my eye

These little goodies...I will paint this mirror ..hmmm antique white?

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these little cook book pamphlets.  I wonder what I can make ~ I'll have to read these

Even though Mr. Vintage can't get out yet, he had my lovely daughter pick these up for me for Mother's Day.  What a sweetie.  Both of them

I wish all of you a Happy Mother's Day full of fun, laughter and love ...



Happy Mother's Day Mommy and to all your friends in Blogland ~ 

For Mother's Day, I wish to share with you a recipe for Happiness Cake ~

1 heaping portion of true love

1 heaping cup of perfect trust and confidence

1 heaping cup of tenderness - the most tender available

1 heaping cup of good humour ~ a little extra won't hurt

1 tablespoon of good spirits - the more spirited the better ~

blend with

1 heaping cup of unselfishness

a dash of interest ~ in all they do

one good helping of work ~  to avoid this would spoil the flavour

Mix all of the ingredients with a pint of sympathy and understanding.  Flavour with loving companionship.  Bake well all your life.  Frost with kisses, fond hopes and tender words.  This cake keeps well and should be served often
