New Year's Blessings

Hello my friends ~ it is New Year's Eve.  A new beginning. Like this little morning dove is a symbol of peace ~ How exciting this is for all of us ~

I have been down with the flu since Christmas Day.  But sometimes, our difficulties turn out to be such a blessing.  All week, I have had time to reflect on the coming New Year, my relationship with the Lord and how  I am feeling right now ~ right at this moment.

I have been so blessed through this little Blog of mine. I have met wonderful friends ~

I have had an opportunity to share with you my thoughts, my little meaderings and my pictures ~ thank YOU

Although it is snowing and blowing outside, my heart is very warm in the knowledge that he keeps me and guides me through every storm ~

I wish for you every promise which the Lord has made.  I wish for you nothing but peace, joy, love and happiness in the New Year.  

Mr. Vintage and I are going to be spending a quiet evening together.  I am not quite well yet, but the Lord strengthens me each day.

May all of your dreams come true in 2014 ~

White Christmas ~

Happy Saturday my friends ~  I am so glad that I am home today ~

We have a little bit of a winter storm brewing here in Ontario.  So far, we have gotten around 7 inches of snow with more coming ~

It's really coming down as you can see ~

You can see how deep the snow is here.  We have shoveled a path for little Chico to go outside ;-)

I think we will have a White Christmas ~

I think I'll snuggle up with Chico and have some hot cocoa ~ it's supposed to start blowing soon with drifting snow.

The wonder of Christmas

Happy Sunday everyone ~ 

There is a chill in the air ~ brrr ~

I have visited so many of you and you have give me such Christmas Inspiration ~ thank you

I have continued decorating the Vintage household ~

A little Christmas in Mr. Vintage's bathroom ~

A little touch in front of the fireplace ~

In the kitchen ~

Even my dough bowl has a little Christmas flair ~

The tree is up ~

 A little reindeer resting in the chair ~

Must have a nut cracker or two ;-)  Although this one, has a broken foot, I still love him and will keep him ~

I think I am definitely ready for the wonder of Christmas ~

Christmas Mantel ~

Hello my friends ~ I have been down with the flu for the past couple of days, but on Sunday I  managed to create my Christmas Mantel ~

I wanted a different look this year, so I collected all of my Mercury Glass and my silver ornies ~ some pinecones too and greenery of course ~

I purchased this little guy at Walmart ~ I could not resist him ~

I had to put the little bottle brush wreath on his antler ;-)

I created a garland out of these little lace stockings and some twine ~

I had to use my chenille stockings again and added a little bling ~

I made a little feather wreath for over the fire place and hung it on a little white ribbon ~

I just love the way it turned out.  

I'll be putting the tree up soon  and I'll share that with you~

I know everyone is busy decorating.  Have you completed your mantel yet?  Have you put your tree up?  What other creative things have you been doing?

Can't wait for you to inspire me ~

Estate Sale Treasures ~

Happy Sunday my friends ~

Mr. Vintage and I went to an estate sale ~ we had such fun ~

When we got there, this little plant stand was in the trash ~ well, my heavens ~ I grabbed it, gave it a coat of paint and here it is ~

I picked up this lamp for just about nothing.  I think I am going to add a little something to the shade ~ what do you think?

This little gem was in a box full of silver.  I paid $2.00 for the whole box ~

This little baby cup was in the box too ~

I finally found the last two little pieces of enamelware for my holder in the kitchen

I just love estate sales ~

Christmas inspiration ~

Hello my friends.  It is really getting close to Christmas ~

 
I want to wish all of my American Friends ~ Happy Thanksgiving~

I have been itching to decorate for Christmas ~ I don't know why.  Usually, I don't do anything until after the American Thanksgiving, but ~ oh what the heck ~

 

I started with ~ winter decorations ;-)  The holly and evergreens came from the back yard ~

 

Just a few things ~

 

Besides, everyone needs, skis and a sled and a bucket of big pine cones on their front porch ;-)

 

I am sure this is just the tip of the iceberg for me ~

Have you been busy decorating?

I am sure most of you are busy baking, cooking and getting ready for Thanksgiving ~ ohhhhh I can smell all of the wonderful aromas from each and every household ~ yum

I will be on the look out for all of the wonderful recipes ~

Extending myself ?

Hello my friends ~

Am I extending myself?

I went to my hair salon the other day and my hair dresser asked me.  Would you be willing to be a model?

A model?  Really?  Me? Are you kidding?

Yes Mommy ~ you are a model and beautiful to me ~ thank you Chico :-)

I have always had long hair until about ten years ago.  Here is a sketch of me that was done when I was 31 ~  a long time ago

This was done in Detroit.  A young man on the corner was doing chalk sketches and asked me if I would sit for him.  I agreed ~

This has been in the basement for many years (20) or so ~ how time flies ~, then as I said my hair dresser decided I needed a new look (again guinea pig)

Mr. V. thinks I am gorgeous ~ Yes, my friends ~ hair extensions ~  I think oh well, you live once.

I HATE taking my own picture in the mirror, but alas, Mr. V. does not know how to work the camera~ but he does love my new look ~  He tells me every day how young and wonderful I look ~ sigh ~ should have been a guinea pig a long time ago ;-)

I am feeling quite beautiful right now ~ thank you Mr. Vintage
