Junkin' on a Rainy Day ~

Hello my friends ~ It's rainy, cold and damp here in Ontario, so Mr. Vintage and I went for a drive.  Well lo and behold ~ could it be?  Yes!  Yes! a garage sale ;-)

We couldn't help ourselves, and these are the little pretties that I picked up ~

I picked up this little flower pot for 50 cents.  Once, I got it home I realized that it's a Fitz and Floyd ~

I love the shell and coral detail on the sides ~

Then, I spotted these ~

I love old keys. What is it about old keys that is so appealing?  Well, I really lucked out on these.  I asked the lady how much she wanted for them.  She told me "take them".  They were a gift from the nice lady.

Then I picked up four of these for $2.00.  I love to drink iced tea and an occasional glass of wine out of these.  It just makes everything taste better and feel so elegant.

Well, the other pretties that I picked up are being laundered, so I will have to share them with you another time.

Have you been junkin' lately?

I can't wait to hear all of your junkin' stories

  1. No junking for me, darn. Glad you were able to pick up some great pieces. How nice Mr. goes with you!

  2. No yard saling today for me. Those keys are precious!!!

  3. SCORE! Love those keys. I recently found a stack at my father in laws house too. They are treasures! I can't resist pretty glasses either...just makes things taste better :)

  4. Looks like you and Mr. had an unexpected windfall. Anxious to see the linens.

  5. I love the yellow chicken salt and pepper set! And how nice to get free keys. We stopped at a yard sale today with a lot of antiques and collectibles but they prices were quite high and I didn't have more than $5.00 so came home without anything. Not that I need any more stuff but one never knows do they?

  6. Yes quite the dreary day isnt it ! Great finds . Papa and I just relaxed and watched movies today cause it has been so rainy ! Have a good day !

  7. I too am attracted to old keys.. not sure why! Great find today and for free too! Have a great weekend!

  8. I haven't been lucky enough to run across many lately. And the last time I did, I didn't buy a thing. Having to be careful. But couldn't even find anything of the little stuff. Oh well, where on earth would I put it?

  9. You found some gorgeous little treasures, I love the old skeleton keys too. Somewhere there should be some that belong to the locks in my house. I would so love to find them!
    Hugs, Cindy

  10. You definitely had a good day.
    The chickies are so sweet!

  11. The car boot season has started over here. This year I am able to go as Elsie is old enough to be left (she eats all the dropped burger buns if she comes with me). Yesterday I got an ancient tin filled with buttons. Bliss! And some lovely lace.

Keys. Yes, what is it? The potential to unlock secret places? I think that's it. The romantic potential of them. How nice to be given them.

    Have a lovely weekend. xx

  12. What a lovely way to spend a rainy day. I must admit I spent part of mine pouting...

  13. Cute little chicks. Maybe I'll go to some garage sales on Thursday.
I'll sure pray for a quick sale for you. I sure know waiting is a tad stressful.

  14. I would have bought those keys in a heart beat...oh wait, she GAVE them to you.

  15. What fun day, hanging out with your husband and finding so many great things. I am partial to the yellow chicks.

  16. Great finds; love the Fitz and Floyd.

  17. What wonderful treasures! The junkin' angels were with you. A belated Happy Birthday to your darling girl. I am hoping that the years ahead bring her only sunny days. And give that sweet Chessie a big kiss from me. What soulful sweet eyes.

    Big Hugs,
    Susan and Bentley

I've been spending a lot of time at Goodwill Stores, we actually have 48 in the greater Phoenix area, yes, I said 48! We can't go to all of them all the time, but we certainly try. I have been missing the yard sales though, but after seeing this post, I'm going to get back to it!
