I decided today to put some of the christmas decorations away. I usually leave them out until New Years Day when everything gets put back in their storage containers. Here are some random shots
Here is a little corner in my kitchen
The top of my kitchen cabinet is back to normal
AND I found this lovely potpourri which was on sale of course. I think I will leave this out all winter, it smells divine...
I love the way the light is dancing on the potpourri
I also found this faux mercury glass candle holder which I love ~ I may keep this out all winter too. It has a lovely vanilla scent.
I will leave my mantel for now. I love to sit in front of the fire with a cup of tea and look at the lights. So soothing.
Well, it's two days after Christmas...with all the rushing and cooking and family and friends. I love them all and I am so blessed. Today is the day that I relax. My hubby bought me a new camera for Christmas and I have been busy trying to get used to it and figure out how to use it. I LOVE IT ~ Thank you so much Honey. I love you the whole world!
This pic of Mindy turned out wonderful ~ even with the snow flakes on her nose...
Scooter is a cutie too ~ she doesn't like the snow at all
Now I think it's time for a cup of coffee and some sweet treats ;-)
and then... maybe ... a nap
Mindy's waiting....
Come snuggle with me mommy
What are you doing today? Please share with us ;-)
I have received a very lovely early Christmas gift ;-)
My good friend and next door neighbour and I swapped cabinets. This is the cabinet I received. To see the cabinet I swapped away you can visit http://homespungirl.blogspot.com/
I have a collection of Santas that I put on top!
My dutch Santa and my Irish Santa...
My rennaisance Santa and my Ukrainian Santa...
My Russian Santa.. and the last one...
My adoring Santa looking down on Baby Jesus.
These are very special to me. I've had them for years.
What kind of ornaments or decorations are special to YOU?
Today the weather was horrible...I didn't really have a snow day, but I did. So....... I will share with you what my good friend and Next Door Neighbour and I accomplished on the weekend ~
We made salt dough icicles! I hung them on the fireplace with twine for a simple look. Karen will be posting the recipe for these..they are soooo easy to make and fun! Go to http://www.homespungirl.blogspot.com/ for the recipe.
AND Karen being the absolute dolly doll that she is.... made these stockings for me
I just added a little bling to them...Aren't they sweet?
I Just keep decorating....;-) Are you finished decorating yet?
(((Hugs)))
Marianne
P.S. here is the recipe for victorian salt clay or salt dough. Karen's been busy so I have put the linky on here...
We made the dough and separated it and rolled it between our fingers. The icicles do NOT have to be perect. In fact, have you ever seen a perfect icicle? We then baked them as per the recipe and the next day we painted them with white glue and sprinkled glitter on them and hung them to dry ~ voila ~ done!
I thought I would share some of my outside decorations with you today.
My vintage sled and skates. I just added a little greenery, some ornaments and a bow.
A little greenery in my window boxes and voila. I have to admit, my hubby and I went for a drive (we live in the country) and pruned a few evergreens. Have to make the County beautiful. My hubby is the greatest, he never complains ~ he just comes along for the ride.
A little greenery in my cement urns ;)
I think the ice and snow that mother nature left adds just the right touch. Don't you?
What have YOU done to make your house beautiful for Christmas? I'm listening.....Can't wait to hear from you

FROSTY
Brrrrrrrrr......
It's so cold that I think I'm going to curl up in my favourite chair and have a nice hot cup of tea
Why would I start a blog just before the Christmas Season. With all the lists of things to do, why would I add one more thing to my list? Because, I would like to start new friendships and share creative ideas and what better time than Christmas? My blog is still in the newborn baby stage, but hopefully it will get better and better. Hope to see YOU soon
