Meet Chester ~

Hello my friends ~  I hope you have had a wonderful week and I wish you an even better week ahead ~ with all of the Christmas preparations in full swing, it is a busy time ~

I would like you to meet someone ~ someone who is VERY special ~

Meet Chester ~

Mr. Vintage and I decided that we just couldn't live in a house without a furry friend following us around.  We miss that special someone who greets you at the door when you come home ~ We cannot and would not think of replacing dear sweet Mindy ~ but we decided it was time ~

We have been looking around the internet and we decided that right now, we just didn't want another Westie ~ Mindy still has our heart and getting another one would hurt.  So, we decided to go to our local animal shelter.  Chester is a two year old lab/spaniel mix and he is very, very calm, friendly and loveable ~ sounds to me like he would be a perfect fit for this family ~

Britt took these pictures with her phone ~ so they are not the best, but you can see he is beautiful and sweet.

We get to pick up Chester tomorrow ~!

Stayed tuned, I am sure there will be more pictures to follow ~ Merry Christmas Mr. Vintage ~ I love you the whole world

I am now VERY MUCH in the Christmas spirit.

((((Hugs))))

Marianne

  1. Hi Chester! Nice to meet you!
He looks a lot like a German Shorthair Pointer/English Pointer cross.....I bet he points on birds!!!!!
My grandpuppy is a English Pointer, and she has a similar head...but his color is really GSP....how cute! He will be a gret dog, once he quits being a puppy....Hang in there! Merry Christmas! Sandy

  2. Ah, he is so sweet, I want to pet him! Wonder what you will name him? Or will he come with his name already? So so so happy for you to get this wonderful new family member!

  4. I am soooo very happy for you guys!!!!! What a great Christmas present.....Chester is adorable!

When we lost our cocker several years ago, our vet suggested a different breed for us to, that's how we ended up with Izzy our westie...she said that if we got the same breed than we would compare the new pup to the one we loss.

I can't wait to hear about Chester's homecoming....he will never replace Mindy in your heart, our hearts are big enough for many loves! She will always be with you, Chester will help fill the void in your home and life....but never your heart.

  5. There is nothing that heals the heart like a wet nose and four paws. When we lost our sweet schnauzer we felt the same way about finding another. We, also, adopted a rescue and he is wonderful. Enjoy your new baby, he is beautiful. Merry Christmas!

  6. Oh, bless you for giving an adult pet a chance at life! Too often people want a puppy for Christmas. I had my Pepper for six years. He was seven when I met him volunteering at my local shelter. He was the best. And I have his ashes in a special wooden box in the bookcase just behind where I'm sitting.

  10. Oh Marianne, I am so happy for you! You know I lost my Heidi just before you lost your Mindy. We waited 2 weeks, a friend found a person with a german shepard for adoption. The house was just too quiet. She is a joy.
