My new living room

Hello my friends ~ it has been a little while.  Mr. Vintage and I have been very busy finishing up the living room.

I love the way it turned out.  I love the soft white which is Beautitone's "vanilla sugar" ~

I made "no sew" drop cloth curtains, and I adore them ~

Since the palette is very muted, I just had to have a little pop of color, so I left the old dresser in here ~

I made little drop cloth curtains for the small window by the stair case ~

A few added pretties ~

I had to keep my little turquoise table in here too ~ with a little pink chair underneath ~

After I was finished painting, I decided to leave the fireplace the way it was ~ You can see that I need to make curtains for the two windows here, but I ran out of drop cloth ;-)

I am getting some more tomorrow.  So you know what I will be doing ~

I love, love, love my living room ~

What have you been doing lately?

  1. Marianne it's beautiful! Love the colour of the paint you chose. All your vintage lovelies work so well there. You should be so proud of your work. Love your curtains too!

  2. Marianne--
I love your new living room.
the drop cloth curtains are so pretty. I need to make some new ones...the fabric is so versatile, I'll probably make over my old ones, cutting away the contrasting fabric I don't want.
I like the light color with the wood grain trim. It looks very crisp.
The painted tables make for pretty accents.
    Enjoy!

  8. Marianne, your living room looks very pretty with the new paint colour. It looks warm and inviting. I like the pops of colour with the turquoise and pink too. The drop cloth curtains are really neat. I'd like to try this for our living room but, I'll have to raise my curtain rod though, which means holes to be filled. :( The vanilla white makes a nice backdrop for your many collectibles. Have a great week.

  10. I love it all! Especially the milkglass and aqua furniture! Your curtains are inspiring me to want to get busy making some for my back porch. That's been on my list for ages.

  11. Your living room looks great! So peaceful and pretty. Love the pops of blue from the dresser and the little table in front of the window. Great job on the curtains. The white ruffled cake plate...I have the same one! Mine is inherited from my great-aunt who passed away last year.
