Thrifting ~

Happy Satuday everyone ~  Well, I gave myself a treat today and went thrifting ~ how I miss it ~

I picked up a couple of treasures ~

I picked up this old clock face for $1.00 ~ It just had to come home with me ~

I had to have these tea cups for $2.00 ~ I just love the little roses on them ~ I will have to have a cup of tea tonight ;-)

I just had to bring these little nappies home too ~ Aren't they adorable?

AND best of all Mr. Vintage surprised me.  You see, I have been looking at these glass cannisters in the antique shop.  They were way too expensive.  They came from a candy store in Detroit, Michigan.  I just loved them ~ no I coveted them ~  well,

Mr. Vintage knows the antique dealer and talked to him about them and the dealer gave them to Mr. Vintage for 1/3 of the price.  Thank you honey so much ~

The lids were in rough shape, so Mr. Vintage painted them pistachio and I love them ~

It was a wonderful thrifting day.

Have you gone thrifting lately?  It's too cold here for yard sales, but I can hardly wait ~ Have you gone yard saling ~ please share with me

Can't wait to hear from you

(((Hugs)))

Marianne

  2. You did great! I had to get out and do some shopping myself. I am happy to still find some treasures I can afford. I love your tea cups! beautiful, and how very sweet of Mr. to get your canister set. My mom grew up in Detroit, maybe she had candy out of them in the 1930's??

  9. I love these thrifty finds Marianne! The china is so pretty and I love the old candy jars. My great uncle had an old country store in a village and the candy was in jars like this. I found one at an antique store and have cookie cutters in it. Your hubby is a good bargainer! Blessings, Pamela

  10. What a sweet sweet thing your husband did for you to buy you those canisters.
I haven't been thrifting for quite some time. As I have told you before...so FEW places to go.
And most of the yard sales around where I live....are farming and horse stuff. Hubby loves it, but not me so much.

  12. Wow! Great prices on your finds! I LOVE the tiny roses on the teacups too. That's my favorite kind. How wonderful of your husband to get you those canisters. And great color choice for the lids.
And no, I haven't gone thrifting lately and I am itching to go! I was actually thinking about going Monday. :) And yard saling! Oh, I miss it so much when it's winter. But it's just around the corner!
Thanks for sharing your treasures with us.
    Stay warm,

  13. Marianne, I hope Mr. V is doing better. The teacups are fabulous. Actually, I think you did great. I ran by an estate sale Thursday after school. I was disappointed. Hope you are having a great Sunday. Bonnie

  15. Beautiful thrifty finds! And kudos to Mr. Vintage for getting those canisters for you. I've been trying to stay away from Goodwill (my fave place for thrifting)...I don't need more "stuff"!

  17. You found some great pieces! And those glass candy jars are fabulous! How wonderful for your hubby to gift you with them. What a sweetheart!
I go thrifting to Value Village quite regularly, that's the only way to find good things. I blogged today about a great find, but it was new, not thrifted.
    Have a lovely day.
