Pizza ~?

Well my friends 2012 is here ~ and with it comes some changes ~ Mr. Vintage MUST eat sensibly and healthy ~

Soooo ~ I made pizza ~ ?

This is a VintageGal recipe

No sweat girls ~ it's easy as pie (no pun intended)

Take frozen pizza dough
Flatten it out the size you wish (I let it rise for 45 minutes to make a thicker dough)
Put marinara sauce on it (Pizza sauce is very spicy ~ too spicy for Mr. Vintage)
While your dough is rising ~ put olive oil in a pan (2 tbsp.)
saute onions, mushrooms, garlic (MUST have garlic)
sprinkle on top of your pizza and add mozzarella cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 18 to 20 minutes (all ovens are different).
voila  ~
serve with a salad ~

Mr. Vintage was VERY happy and it didn't upset his stomach, which is a very good thing after his surgery ;-)

You can also add whatever you like to it ~ broccoli, aspargus, spinach (Mr. Vintage asked for spinach next time) ~
I know, I know, this is a treat ~ not your average meal, but poor Mr. Vintage has been eating all bran, bran muffins, chicken, chicken and more chicken.  He needed a change.  Thank goodness he did well with it

What are you making for dinner tonight?  PLEASE share some recipes with me ~ I would love it ~ no pork please ~ Mr. Vintage was adamantly advised not to eat it again ~

I can't wait to hear your recipes ~

(((Hugs)))

Marianne

No Chess puppies don't eat pizza ~ I'll give you another treat ~something you should eat! No squirrels

  1. I make homemade pizza all the time...it's everyone's favorite. And it's real easy to make your own crust. Take about 1 3/4 cup flour, add a pinch of salt and stir. In a cup put about 1/2 cup of warm water with 1 TBSP yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar and let it set for a couple of minutes. Add the yeast mixture to the flour...with a little more if you need it. Then ball it up, and flatten it in your pan with olive oil on your hand. Then cook it in a preheated oven for a few minutes before you put all of your toppings on! Fresh basil on top of marinara sauce is really good, too! I use unsalted tomato sauce and add my own spices. Well...I hope you wanted to know all of this! heehee! Hugs! ♥

  2. Looks good enough to eat. I just bought my hubby some gluten free pizza crust. Might try your recipe with some kind of meat. Personally, I like the vegie, but hubby likes meat on his.

  3. The pizza looks great!
We had made up steak soup. We had some leftover ribeyes. Cut them up in beef broth, added mushrooms, onions, potato's and corn. Was really good with some pillsbury Italian bread.

  4. I did a post around Thanksgiving about stromboli that my daughter made. It is beyond delicious. The recipe is on the post. Let me know if you can't find it and would like it.

  5. Hi Marianne! I just spend some time looking thru your past posts! Love your blog and you have so many pretty vintage things...love them all! So sorry to read about your dear little Mindy...we lost a dog after almost 13 years and we had a BIG family cry for 2 days and it was so hard! It took us 2-3 years before we could get another dog... and then we got 2 little Shih Zhus who keep the house alive! I hope your daughter's hearts mends with time and Mr. Vintage feels better and gets stronger everyday! Happy New Year! Angie in Edmonton! xo

  6. My hubby loves pizza but we haven't made our own in ages. He hasn't met a pre-prepared pizza though that he has been able to resist tinkering with...

  7. the pizza looks delishous marianne ! Im sure the hubs loved it ! did he have the gall B removed? My dad recently had a bad experience with pain and terrible episode on Thanksgiving turned out he needed the gall bladder taken out. Now he is on the mend and feeling so much better. He was going to find out what his diet changes had to be other than no salt because he also has congestive heart failure he has to take care not to make worse.

  10. Your pizza looks delish and I am glad to hear that Mr. V tolerated it well. When I lived in the Middle East I had typhoid, so I understand what it's like to have to be very careful about the diet. I ate lots of rice and applesauce and progressed to fish. Love to you both and Chessie too!

    Big Hugs,
    Susan and Bentley

  12. Recipe wise Im not all sure, but how about this, Mr. Vintage should try some Apple Cider Vinegar (two tablespoons in a glass of water) per day! If its organic, and has some murky stuff on the bottom (which is extremely good) it will really help with the healing and recovery process! Its not too acidic, as this is not a normal vinegar, and cleans out, purifies blood (getting rid of fungus and cholesterol, not to mentions chemicals in the blood) but it also heals stomach ulcers and is brilliant for the digestive system! Theres a ton of more health abilities it has, but then my comment would be SUPER long :) Easy to find info on it on google though! Hope this helps a bit! I know Manuka honey with high UMF is also great for the tummy! Hope this helps!

  14. Your pizza looks delicious. Sometime I make home made "pizza", using flat bread circles, I forget what they're called, but they come in a pkg in the bakery section. The look sort of like pita bread, but taste more like pizza crust. Glad your hubby is healing from his surgery.

  18. Yummmm. We make homemade pizza at least once every week or two. The kids and dad loves it. We make one with sauce for hubby and one without for the rest of us.
